about

Farin Hite's Debut EP, The Purple Heart EP, is a testament to the inner workings of musical propositions pent up for several years.

Originally a jazz-centric bassist, Farin first started his adventure as a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and artist in Akron, OH. After years of musical ventures in genres ranging from Jazz to Rock and Dance, Farin found himself living in Boston while attending Berklee College of Music.

Later, after several months of back-and-fourth songwriting, Farin finally began recording The Purple Heart EP while living in Boston, late September 2009.

Almost immediately, the release turned into a DIY project; Farin serving as the Artist, Producer, Programmer & Engineer. Along the way, Farin teamed up with close friends Keeley Bumford (Hotel Cinema) & Jeff Fettig to co-write "Times Have Changed" & "The Only Thing Wrong". Friends Sophie Bick and John Ryan (With Engines, Family Affair Productions) also joined in on the project to sing backing vocals on "Hope Again", "The Only Thing Wrong" & "Purple Heart".
